PWS Residential Staff Training Focus Session #4

Focus Session #4: Manage Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviors and When to Use Medication. This course will outline strategies to manage PWS’s obsessive-compulsive symptoms including skin picking, collecting, excessive talking, and excessive questions. We will describe how to respond to PWS’s unique symptom to confabulate, and false allegations of abuse. Finally, we will explore PWS’s psychiatric symptom profile, medication management, admonition against removing supports, and how important it is to educate other professional providers about PWS.
